Sadly, another Teen Mom OG couple has lost a child during pregnancy as well.
From the very beginning of her time on Teen Mom, Cheyenne Floyd and her baby daddy Cory Wharton’s relationship was pretty shaky. It wasn’t long before they broke things off… and next thing we knew, Cory revealed he was having a baby with another woman, Taylor Selfridge!
“It was definitely a surprise,” Cory spilled in an interview with Us Weekly. “Taylor is currently 11 weeks along, and this will be her first child. “Just being there from the day she found out that she’s pregnant and knowing that it was mine, I knew that I was going to have to step up.”
Cory is excited to do all the things as a new father that he did not get to do with his first daughter. “It’s exciting for me. It’s gonna be a lot, but I’m excited. I never went to an ultrasound, you know?” he said. “I never went to the doctor’s appointments to see her check-ups and things like that.”
Unfortunately, Taylor has just opened up about a tragic event in her pregnancy.
“Ok I didn’t think it would be a big deal to take a break from social media but apparently it is because everyone seems to think I’m missing now please don’t believe this stuff,” Taylor shared in her Instagram story.
“I’m doing just fine, I’m happy, healthy, our baby is healthy.”
She went on:
“A few days after the announcement we found out we were supposed to actually have twins, I ended up losing one of them.
She added, “But on the positive side, my baby is healthy! And I’m 19 weeks now.”
Taylor then clarified, “So now when I don’t post on social media. I didn’t go missing. I also want to say that it wasn’t about the loss of a twin, it was me not wanting to stress myself out too much over social media! I wanted to make sure my baby is as healthy as possible.”
Now, Taylor is making it clear that what happened to her was not a miscarriage.
“I don’t like that people are calling it a miscarriage now. It’s called vanishing twin syndrome or disappearing twin syndrome,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. She added, “We went in for a check-up on our baby and they had found a separate empty sac so we didn’t know that we had twins before that.”
She shared that her current goal is minimizing stress during her pregnancy.
“I was so stressed out during the first trimester that I was afraid it was my fault that happened and that’s what I struggle with now,” she wrote. She added, “Our baby is very healthy, we have no genetic issues to worry about after testing and we’re very happy about that.
