“When you love someone like that and they say that, it’s like…” he said, and then started to cry.
Catelynn soon left for rehab to seek counseling for her suicidal thoughts. But in the meantime, Tyler was suffering as well. “I really wanted that baby,” he said through tear in the episode. “LIfe’s just not giving me a break right now.”
Since then, Tyler has been very vocal about his mental health, including his recent reveal that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Catelynn revealed the information when she hinted at “Tyler’s recent diagnosis” during a reunion special with Dr. Drew. When Dr. Drew asked Tyler to clarify, Tyler revealed that he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. After the show, he took to Twitter to share that he hadn’t agreed to let Catelynn share the information.
“Honestly, I wasn’t even planning on releasing that info,” Tyler shared on Twitter. “But once Cate mentioned about my recent diagnosis, I figured ‘what the hell? Like why am I so against telling anyone?”
Luckily, things turned out for the best. “It’s actually been a little easier to digest since I have been talking about it more #KeeptalkingMH,” Tyler wrote.
Tyler has also been expressing himself in a new way: through poetry.
One reads:
”Yeah I hear all you b*tches, I hear all you hatin & tryin to belittle, but I am not brittle & you got me glitchin if you think I’m switchin, so stop all your flexin & stop all your b*tchin, your keyboard words can’t put me in stitches #KeepHatin #ItsFuelWhenImWritin ”
