Matt Baier may not have been a favorite among Teen Mom stars, but many were shocked to hear this secret of his past.
“I’ve just had to pause the episode as watching Matt cry in the drill with the young Matt made me bawl,” wrote reddit user NurseSophia89, referring to a drill where the cast interacted with child actors pretending to be younger versions of themselves. “Thinking about it more and the type of guy that Matt is, I think I get he walked away from all of his kids because he figured if he wasn’t there at all, then he couldn’t disappoint them and let them down.” User TdubLakeO wrote, “I was skeptical about Matt’s childhood sexual abuse at the outset of this episode because Matt has said in the past that he was never sexually abused when he was a child- even tho he wrote a book about a little boy who is sexually abused by an older guy. However, Matt has me convinced now. In fact, I was very moved by ALL of the interactions last night.”
