This Teen Mom 2 star opened up about incarceration and how it is hurting her family. The absence of a mother is difficult, and she talked about how drug addiction has destroyed their stability.
It’s not easy struggling with addiction, and even sober stars know there can be a threat of relapse. Recently, Tyler Baltierra opened up about his father who had relapsed. In April 2018, Teen Mom fans learned that Tyler’s father had gotten sober, but it appears that is no longer the case. He and Catelynn Lowell appeared on Kailyn Lowry’s Coffee Convos podcast to discuss what had happened.
“He’s in the middle of a relapse right now. That’s the reality of that situation right now,” Tyler said.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, his father’s struggle with addiction will be a storyline on the new Teen Mom OG season. Tyler said his father filmed a couple of scenes for the show.
“So, this season you’ll see me go down there a couple of times. He lives in Austin and he got out of rehab he did his sober living, all that stuff,” the star explained.
The Ashely’s Reality Roundup revealed that Tyler’s sister, Amber, said her father was getting back into his old habits.
“He drinks a couple of beers here and there…He thinks he can manage all this but it will progress into something big again. That’s what this disease does,” Amber wrote on Facebook.
In regards to his father’s relapse, Tyler said they “go back to square one, do this relapse thing and kind of ride this train out and see what happens.”
It looks like Tyler and this other Teen Mom star have some things in common, and she appeared alongside Tyler and Catelynn on an episode of Coffee Convos.
The newest cast member of Teen Mom 2, Jade Cline, opened up about her mother and step father’s struggle with addiction. On part three of the show’s reunion, she revealed that both of her parents had been arrested.
Jade will be taking Jenelle Evan’s place in the show, and will appear alongside Chlesea Houska,Leah Messer, and Kailyn Lowry. She previous appeared on Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.
Her storyline on the new season will focus on her parents being in jail. “In my new season, both of my parents were just incarcerated,” she revealed. “They’re been strung out for so long, they’re like binge addicts, where they’ll binge and then they’ll be okay.”
