Here we go again!
Briana DeJesus was looking fierce at the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend, but someone very close to her and her family was stuck in a jail cell. Yet again, her first baby daddy Devoin Austin got caught doing what he shouldn’t have been doing, so he had to pay a high price for it. This isn’t nearly the first time he’s spent a few nights in jail, but this go around, he could be locked up for a very long time.

The Beginning

Briana doesn’t have good luck when it comes to guys; she draws her strength through her lady tribe consisting of her mother, sister, and daughters.
Briana’s first child Nova is the daughter of a guy named Devoin Austin, and if you can’t remember who he is, it’s because he’s been out of the spotlight and in jail many times throughout the last few years. He’s such a ne’er-do-well that Briana and her mother Roxanne filed a request for a domestic violence protection order against him on December 27, 2011 in Orange County, Florida. Nova was just three months old at the time.
The court papers state, “[Austin] previously threatened, harassed, stalked or physically abused the petitioner. [Austin] attempted to harm the petitioner or family members or individuals closely associated with the petitioner. [Austin] threatened to conceal, kidnap or harm the petitioner’s child or children.” They also asserted that Devoin has drug and alcohol issues.
Briana and Roxanne said that they felt threatened by Devoin and his family ever since Nova was born. First, they said that Devoin caused a scene at the hospital during the birth, forcing her to change rooms and get a security guard.
Roxanne also said, “Devoin Austin and his sister came to my house after I told him to please not come and they started banging on my door at 10:30pm and made nasty threats. I had to call the police.”

One month after that harrowing scene, Briana claimed that she agreed to meet Devoin at his mother’s house so that he could see Nova, but she said that he took her to his father’s house and wouldn’t take her home.
Roxanne said about the incident, “She saw a big marijuana plant in the middle of the living room. Devoin’s father started to text myself and Briana saying things such as the big bad wolf is here and that she has to deal with him.” Further, Briana said Devoin would indulge in drugs at his dad’s house and boast about it on social media.
Roxanne said to the courts, “I’m afraid for Briana and Nova,” but the petition was denied due to insufficient evidence.

The court may not have seen why Briana should be protected from Devoin, but he’s got a ton of arrests that solidify her case. Starting in 2013, Devoin was arrested many times for charges ranging from drug possession to burglary. In 2014, he was issued an arrest warrant stemming from not showing up in court when he had to face his marijuana possession charge. He was originally set to face a year in jail or a large fine.
Now, Devoin has been caught! He was arrested in Orange County, Floridia and will have to face a much fiercer sentence since he chose not to face the original one.
