For a lot of fans, the Teen Mom reunions are the best part of the season. It’s one of the rare moments that the entire cast gets together and gets to commiserate about their shared difficulties and catch up about all of the drama that happened in the season. It’s the time that we get our best cast selfies, and, of course, all of the biggest feuds.
This time around, fans have been surprised to hear that the Teen Mom 2 reunion featured an unexpected appearance from a Teen Mom OG cast member. Here’s why Catelynn Lowell made an appearance in the Teen Mom 2 reunion.

It’s no secret that some of the Teen Mom cast members don’t see eye to eye, but there are some who have made some lasting connections with one another.
Of those two categories, Catelynn Lowell tends to fall squarely into the latter. Of all of the cast, she’s maybe the one who’s had the least feuds, if she’s had any at all. So it’s no surprise that she and Chelsea Houska can call themselves friends.
But none of the Teen Mom friendship are without their difficulties, simply because of all the hardships that the girls endure. It turns out that that’s why Catelynn flew to New York to see Chelsea for the reunion.
Catelynn shared the news via Instagram. “As you know, we are always open with our fans and there’s been a lot going on in our lives. We will be at the #TeenMom2 reunion this weekend and for a very important reason. We are sharing the news with you, our fans, in advance. Thanks always for your support and love.”
“I’m looking forward to going and speaking from my experience with struggling with panic disorder,” Catelynn revealed in an interview with In Touch Weekly. “I’m hoping I can be a beam of light for Chelsea to let her know that things do get better and change if you put in the work.”
Catelynn explained that she’ll be offering advice to both Chelsea Houska and her husband Cole DeBoer. “I’m looking forward to Tyler coming and giving Chelsea’s husband some ideas of what to do as a spouse,” she said.
She revealed that MTV set the appearance up because of Catelynn’s “experience with anxiety and treatment.”
Meanwhile, not everything is so sunshiney in the land of reunions. Some of the girls almost got into physical fights during the Teen Mom 2 and Young and Pregnant reunion filming.
“B*tches wanna be hard at the reunion,” Ashley Jones wrote in an Instagram story targeting Jade Cline. “I will beat you f*ck up. Period. You know my hotel number.”
But it didn’t come to throwing hands. “Just to set the record straight, no one was ‘jumped’ at the reunion,” Jade wrote on Twitter. “There was no physical altercation. Ashley is in her feelings and wanted to start drama with everyone and basically looked like a fool. Now she’s online ‘spilling tea’ when in all reality everything she says is a COMPLETE AND UTTER LIE.”
She went on,
“Ashley you’re out of your f*cking mind. Get help. The way you acted in front of the whole world on the reunion was insane. Talking about people kids and family’s is low. You’re a pathetic a** individual and no one beleives your bullsh*t. Get help. The way you acted as a woman and as a mother is sickening. Once the reunion airs everyone will see the truth and exactly what went down. You’re a compulsive liar and need to snap back into reality.”
In fact, the reunions are so bad that Kailyn Lowry has revealed she’s not planning on ever attending one again.
“Say no to things that are not good for your mental health. I.e. teen mom reunions,” Kailyn wrote.
She went on, “Every year I say I’m not going. Every year I give in. Every year I am apart of bulls—. This time I’ve reflected, accepted responsibility [and] wanted to do better,” she wrote. “This year, I get dragged into bullsh*t that had NOTHING to do with me.”
She even called out the network, writing, “@MTV stop putting girls who do not like each other on the same stage. Stop putting girls in a situation where they feel like they need to prove themselves.”
“I promise y’all, nobody better even think about asking me to attend another reunion,” she wrote.
