Are you excited for Teen Mom OG but just can't wait until the March 17th premiere to see what happens to the girls?
... Or maybe you're a little on the fence about tuning in this season and want to make sure it'll be worth your time.
Either way, Teen Mom Talk Now has the scoop about what to expect in the next season.
The cast of Teen Mom definitely looks a little different now than it did when it first premiered a decade ago. It's true that Farrah Abraham is no longer on the show, but MTV has added both Are You The One? star Cheyenne Floyd and Teen Mom 3Mackenzie McKee.
Many fans have found recent season of the show to be less than captivating, and viewership has been dropping. Will this season be enough to keep viewer's interested? Time to check out what's coming up in the girl's storylines.
Cheyenne Floyd
What's coming up in Cheyenne's season? The sneak peek via MTV's website reads:
"After a fling, Cheyenne found herself co-parenting with her Challenge castmate Cory. Their daughter, Ryder, has VLCAD, a rare genetic disorder, so Cheyenne works hard to bring awareness to and raise funds for the condition."
Meanwhile, Cheyenne is working on her love life.
"Cheyenne was hoping her relationship with her boyfriend Matt would lead to an engagement, but when it fizzles out -- and Cory and his girlfriend Taylor announce they're having a baby -- Cheyenne finds herself single for the first time in a long time."
Catelynn Lowell
As for Cate and Ty, they may have more baby plans in the next season.
"Eleven years after placing their first daughter, Carly, for adoption, Cate and Ty are the happiest they have ever been," the sneak peek reads. "With Cate's mental health under control, and after surviving a trial separation, the couple decide[s] to celebrate with a recommitment ceremony."
The peek goes on, "While parenting their two girls, Nova and Vaeda, Ty is still desperate for a son, so he and Cate look into what it would take to guarantee a boy in their next pregnancy."
Maci Bookout
As for Maci, fans are excited about where next season will take her as she continues co-parenting with Ryan.
"Eleven years after their son, Bentley, was born, Maci and Ryan still struggle to have a solid co-parenting relationship," her sneak peek reads.
"With an order of protection in place, they can only communicate through Ryan's mom and wife. While raising three kids with her husband, Taylor, Maci steps up in her advocacy work and continues to bring awareness to causes close to her heart, especially women's health."
Mackenzie McKee
As we know, Mackenzie's storyline will be difficult to watch this season as she struggles with her mother's cancer diagnosis. But that's not all that's going on in Mackenzie's life.
"Mackenzie McKee, originally from Teen Mom 3, keeps busy juggling three kids, a fitness business and a six-year marriage to her high school sweetheart Josh," the preview reads.
"With communication issues and infidelity complicating her marriage, Mackenzie may be contemplating divorce. But as her mom, Angie, fights Stage 4 cancer, Mackenzie must learn to prioritize what's really important in life."
And then there's Amber!
Amber Portwood
The fact that Amber Portwood is even listed as a cast member after her domestic violence against her baby daddy Andrew Glennon is a shock to many fans. Apparently, MTV will be turning this disturbing violence into a storyline.
Her preview reads:
"Amber is in the midst of a custody and criminal case after a domestic dispute with her ex-boyfriend Andrew. She acknowledges her behavior was out of line and seeks help with a psychiatrist and anger management classes. But when audio leaks of arguments she's had with Andrew, it's hard to relive the past."
So, there you have it. Will you be tuning in to Teen Mom OG this season?
Meanwhile, it looks like there may not even be a Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant to watch next season!
Inside Source Reveals Plans For 'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant' Cancellation
All good things must come to an end, and yes, that includes Teen Mom. As the cast members’ storylines grow more and more familiar, fans have begun wondering whether each season will be Teen Mom’s last.
As Teen Mom’s relevancy faded, MTV introduced a new set of moms on the show Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. Although many believed this show was introduced to outlive Teen Mom, it might be the first to get the axe.
Rumors of Teen Mom going of the air began at the end of last season, and they’ve only gotten worse. Fans truly began expecting the end of the show when Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant didn’t even get a reunion!
The Instagram account Teen Mom Mama Drama posted a screenshot of a source discussing the likelihood of the show going off the air.
In the screenshot, a message from someone named Steph Polo commented on the lack of reunion. “There’s not going to be your [sic] reunion or they would have filmed it about a month ago,” she wrote. “They consider that one we have for Teen Mom 2 was our reunion but if you don’t actually live watch the night of the episode of the season finale then there will be enough ratings.”
She didn’t give confirmation of where she got her information from, but ultimately is suggesting that the show will go off the air because ratings don’t account for people who watch the show after the air date.
A reddit thread explores the possibility of Young and Pregnant being cancelled altogether.
Now, an inside production source has reached out to to discuss the possibility of cancellation.
“There has been no ‘official’ decision made for ‘Young and Pregnant,'” one source revealed. “It has not been officially cancelled.”
However, The Ashley’s sources revealed that cancellation is probably right around the corner.
“The chances of [the show] getting picked up are super slim,” another source told The Ashley. “It’s not official yet and the cast has not been notified, but it’s pretty much done.”
The cancellation seems imminent because producers still haven’t submitted a budget for the next season, which would normally have happened by now.
“They should have submitted it way back in December or January, and now we’re in March and there’s nothing, and there’s no official order for more episodes,” the production source told The Ashley. “That doesn’t happen unless the show is done. And there has been no filming at all. Usually, [with Teen Mom OG or Teen Mom 2] filming will continue, even without an official pick-up order because they know one is coming, but that didn’t happen here, which is not a good sign.”
Fans on reddit shared their opinions about a potential cancellation.
“Not surprising. There are a huge amount of people in this sub alone who keep watching the older girls, while saying they have no interest in pregnant teenagers anymore because they didn’t grow up with them,” one user wrote. “I’m sure many viewers feel the same way.”
Another user disagreed completely. “It makes literally no sense to me for them to cancel a show that is actually entertaining and actually shows the struggles of young motherhood, but keep the boring ass show that’s been on for 10 years about 30 year old entitled rich girls??? Huh???”
“They ended the episode saying Y&P was over but I took that to mean that the season is over not that they have made the decision to cancel the show and this is their announcement,” a third user commented. “It is lazy that there is no reunion but we get stuck with 3 weeks of the boring OG & TM2 casts. I personally would enjoy 3 weeks devoted just to the Beaver's! [sic]”
