Given the Teen Mom stars’ track records with love and relationships, it’s pretty hard for fans to be surprised when one of their marriages takes a turn for the worse. The cast members have notoriously short marriages, including some quickie marriages that lasted for less time than the break between Teen Mom filming seasons.
But some couples on the show seem like they’re in it for the long haul, even if that means fighting through the hardest times with marriage counseling.

The Teen Mom franchise has had multiple spinoffs, and even though OG and Teen Mom 2 are the most popular doesn’t mean the rest of the series are forgettable. Long time fans remember the short-lived spinoff Teen Mom 3, which is actually where Briana DeJesus got her start.
Even though not all of the Teen Mom 3 cast members migrated to a new show, they still have faithful followings across social media. And the most well known member of the cast (other than Briana) is definitely Mackenzie McKee.
Although Mackenzie’s storyline has been just as crazy as her Teen Mom counterparts, the struggles between her and her husband Josh McKee really came to a head when she admitted on an episode of Couples Court with the Cutlers that she had been cheating on Josh.
“We were 15 and 16 and we were babies thinking we knew what love was when we had no clue. And we got pregnant really quick and had our son,” she explained on the show, according to People.
“Within a year, we had both cheated on each other,” she said. “And making it through that was hard.”
She revealed that Josh and she got married in a shotgun wedding to try and fix their issues, which we know now did not work too well.
“You have to love yourself and you have to work on yourself,” said Mackenzie. “And if it’s meant to be, you’re going to find your way back to each other.”
Mackenzie and Josh were briefly separated, which Mackenzie recently opened up about on Instagram. But this time, Mackenzie said Josh is going to have to work hard to get her back.
“If I was ever dumb enough to be with Josh. He has to start from scratch.. fight for me, ask me to be his gf, propose, than marry me,” she tweeted. “And if that’s another man first than that’s how it was suppose to be.”
She then followed up about her shortcomings as a wife.
“Also if he is dumb enough to be with me. I’m not going to pretend I was a good wife. I wasn’t. And for that I apologize,” she wrote. “I’ve lied, I’ve cheated, and stopped showing an ounce of affection for 3 years. Etc… we are both idiots and need a fresh start. Probs not with each other.”
Luckily, it seems that Josh and Mackenzie are willing to put the time in together to work it out.
The update came with a photo on Josh’s instagram, where he spilled all about working things out with Mackenzie.
“God works in mysterious ways…” he wrote on the post, continuing:
“We went to a marriage encounters program, which is a Christian based organization.
It was an awesome experience, the structure of the program was amazing and every lesson segment makes the couples realise why they got married in the first place. It’s not easy and the journey might get a little rocky but grounding your marriage in god makes your relationship become closer.
The second day we were there we had a little exercise and at the end we were dismissed to go back to our room or we could stay and have a couple come pray with us and that night I asked god to fully come into my life and that alone was worth attending …”
