He finally took the step!
Teen Mom: OG‘s Ryan Edwards has finally taken the plunge. His alleged substance abuse has been a point of concern for his ex, Maci Bookout, as well as those who have supported her throughout their relationship. As time went on, it seemed that Ryan was slipping further and further into addiction, and it became clear that he needed help.
After what seems like ages of his co-stars and all of the Teen Moms worrying about his alleged substance abuse, sources say that he has finally checked into rehab to attempt to get help as he makes the steps towards recovery.

Even though Maci and Ryan broke up a while ago, Maci has remained concerned for Ryan’s health. Even though Maci has stayed by his side through much of his addiction, at some point, his problems began to be too serious for her to help him with on her own.

Even though Maci was willing to help Ryan through his struggles, it soon became clear that if Ryan didn’t make the decision to help himself, he would just continue to sink further and further into his addictions. Maci said she discussed rehab with him, as she felt that he needed professional guidance for recovery.
She said that Ryan “would do it,” but that the biggest battle would be struggling to convince friends and family. “It’s everyone else around him that is too afraid to admit it,” she said on a episode, pointing out one of the biggest problems.
Opening Up

In a recent episode of Teen Mom, Maci opened up and shared the heartbreaking truth of how helpless she feels in the face of Ryan’s problem. As Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood looked on sympathetically, Maci admitted the heartbreaking truth.
She said that she has to live in constant fear that Ryan might do some permanent damage with his addiction. She told her friends, “I wonder if today’s gonna be the day that Ryan does something that he can’t come back from.”
