But Aleeah seemed uncomfortable and explained, “I don’t know how to start a conversation [with the therapist].”
“The way I look at a therapist is as if I want to connect with them as a friend or someone that I can be open and honest with and trust.” But while Leah spoke, Aleeah continued to make funny faces and play on her phone. “What’s the face? If you can’t have a serious conversation…”
“I am gonna talk!” Aleeah screamed to her mother. Then she started kicking the back of the car seat with her feet.
“You’re not gonna talk!” Leah screamed back. “I’ve been trying to talk to you! I talk and you look like a brat back there with your eyes rolled behind your head making faces! And then I get upset because you look like that but you won’t stop?! You want to be a smart alek, so I really, really hope the appointment goes well.”
Leah has apparently been feeling the heat from fans’ backlash, because she took to Twitter to clear thins up.
“You don’t know that it’s a struggle for her to accept that her sister has [muscular dystrophy] and she just wants her to be able to play with her and chase her back outside!” she wrote. She went on:
“You dont know that she wakes up every day feeling like she has to protect her from BULLIES at school! You don’t know. YOU DONT KNOW… that she holds so many feelings inside because she wants her best friend to be healthy and everything be okay!! YOU DONT KNOW that she has hid so much guilt, pain, and resentment in all this time because she’s a CHILD and just didn’t understand WHY. THERES SO MUCH MORE but I’m going to leave it here … YOU DONT KNOW HER STORY, but I KNOW …”
But some fans didn’t even think Leah needed to defend herself, and that Aleeah’s behavior was to be expected from her situation.
“Gracie’s actions and thoughts are perfectly appropriate for a school-aged child in her situation, and I think it’s great that Leah encourages her to talk about her feelings and is there to support her,” wrote reddit user Guaco-Taco. “However, what could have been even better is if Leah didn’t broadcast the highlights from Gracie’s therapy session on national tv.” User Chachibald pointed out, “Am I crazy, because I really don’t think Gracie’s behavior is that bad! Seems like normal sibling rivalry to me. Not saying that she shouldn’t have therapy to deal with these issues, but…is ALI getting any counseling? I mean, she’s a little kid, watching her own body deteriorate, and seeing her siblings leave her behind developmentally. That’s got to mess a kid up inside. :(“
Unfortunately for Leah, this isn’t the only heat she’s taken about the way she’s raising her daughters. After sharing an upsetting picture, some fans believe Leah could have put her daughter’s life at risk.

Ali’s form of muscular dystrophy inhibits her development and motor skills, and has been a source of a lot of pain for Leah and her family. In fact, she recently shared that she and Ali spent the night in the hospital together as a result of her condition.
Even though Leah has been fighting to do what’s right for her family, her decisions aren’t always going to be popular. Recently, Leah has been sharing pictures of her daughter Aleeah during her cheer tournaments, and fans understood why her twin sister Ali wasn’t there as well. However, Leah recently shared a picture of Ali that has fans divided.
In an image Leah shared of Ali, she appears to be part of a special needs team that has routines with her sister Aleeah’s team as well. In the picture, Ali is a flyer, meaning that the young girls from the other team are responsible for holding her up and keeping her safe. Even though it’s clear Ali is enjoying herself, fans were outraged by Leah’s choice.
“The doctors have been saying for years that Ali shouldn’t be on her feet and doing strenuous activity – and yet she’s involved in cheering and softball. I’m glad that those [activities] give Ali a chance to feel normal and happy, but they’re going to destroy her muscles,” wrote reddit user Stabbymctits. “I’m not an expert obviously, this is just based on what Leah’s been told for YEARS.”
“Why is Ali a flyer?” asked kelseyxiv. “Good lord that’s like the most dangerous position for her to occupy with her disability. Just the way she has to be held and caught could hurt her. This is dumb.” User spookyookydoo pointed out, “It doesn’t look like she’s very secure and that worries me. If they dropped her imagine how devastated everyone would be? And it wouldn’t even be their fault.” They added, “Leah needs to try making the helmet ‘cool’ and using her wheelchair ‘cool’ as much as she makes cheer ‘cool.’ Listen to the d*mn doctors and help her maintain as much of her muscle as she can! There are sports she can be in and be in her wheelchair, which I think would be pretty d*mn cool!”
Not everyone thought Leah’s choice was bad, though. User keridactyl wrote, “Ali’s projected lifespan isn’t long and at some point she will be wheelchair-bound for life. Leah may not be handling it the way you think she should, but… It is a valid choice for Leah to cater to Ali’s wishes and let her be happy in the moment, even if it’s not the best choice medically or the choice that you would make.” User allthatryry chimed in, “It’s a 2.5 minute routine. She obviously has the strength enough to last, and glasses off during a routine is common. You see a few minutes of doctor appts every once in a while, you don’t know all of her situation.”
But luckily, Leah has some good news in her family to take her mind off of things. Her mother recently shared that her family is about to get a little bit bigger!

Leah’s mother Dawn shared an image of a sonogram to her Instagram, writing “#BLESSED.” Dawn tagged Leah in the post, leading to some confusing among fans. But the mystery was soon cleared up when Dawn revealed that Leah’s sister and Teen Mom co-star Victoria is the one expecting!
Dawn also shared this picture of Victoria holding her growing baby bump. “Beautiful baby! And the baby bump,” she wrote.
Leah recently broke the news to her fans that Victoria will soon be changing her last name as well. “My hair was a little bit of a mess after the twins birthday party, but I’m so happy for my brother and his NOW fiancé!! 😱😍 CONGRATS guys,” Leah captioned this shot of her huge family. She tagged Victoria and her soon to be husband Isaac.
Dawn also added a shot, writing, ‘A bond between mother and daughters can NEVER be broken even if they have a 1,000 disagreements. #motherlylove.”
And, of course, she isn’t the only pregnant Teen Mom 2 star. Chelsea Houska’s due date is quickly approaching, and fans think she may have accidentally revealed the name she chose for her daughter!
