Every family has its own traditions, outlooks, and parenting styles. We’ve all got to see that firsthand by watching Teen Mom. The girls display just how outlandish some parenting techniques can be.
Sure, sometimes the way they bring up their children isn’t the way most people would, but (at the end of the day) it’s their choice. It’s only when fans worry about the safety of the children that things start to get a little more complicated.
Fans are never shy about reaching out to the Teen Mom cast members when it comes to their worries about the stars’ children. The comments section of many an Instagram post are filled with fans expressing concern or lecturing the cast members. In this case, it’s no question as to why, considering what “Santa” brought Leah’s youngest daughter, Addie.
With gun violence becoming increasingly common in the United States, it’s not surprising that many were distressed to see Addie holding her own gun — and they’re not happy with Leah and Jeremy at all.

Considering how hefty the Teen Mom paychecks are, it’s no surprise that Santa was very good to their children this year. Many of the stars have posted adorable pictures of their kids playing with all of their new toys, but there was one in particular that many found upsetting.
Leah, who is from West Virginia, is big into hunting and sportsmanship, as it is a big part of the WV culture. Since hunting and guns go hand-in-hand, it’s not surprising that Jeremy, Corey, and even Leah would know their way around a gun or two… But what about Addie?
Apparently, Jeremy thought that his four-year-old daughter Addie is plenty old enough to learn how to work a gun, so he bought her one of her very own for Christmas. With her gun decked out in bright pink camo, Addie gave a sweet smile with her new sharp shooter, which Jeremy captioned, “My baby dolls 1st 22 cal crickett…… @nationalrifleassociation @nratv@nrawomen gun safety 100% #daddiescountrygirl #muddygirlcamo#22crickett #adalynnfaith.”
Since Jeremy and Leah share custody of Addie, many were bound to ask whether Leah knew her daughter was getting a gun for Christmas. Jeremy nipped that question in the bud before fans could even ask, writing, “And yes [Leah] is aware of this.”

Many users like @sarah_luck_ were distraught at this idea. “A gun?! For a 4 year old!!” they wrote. “No wonder there is so much gun crime in America when people are doing crazy things like this.” User !amanda.h19 wrote, “I really don’t think ANY child (needs) a gun! I don’t even think any child should be able to use a gun…”
@zandee88 agreed, saying, “Yeah this looks super safe, let’s definitely get one more kid on this planet to think guns are toys and add to the statistics of gun deaths. Way to go.”
Just as many people were quick to defend the gift though. User @chevymumzy wrote, “Girls and guns! People need to relax…it’s not a semi automatic or automatic it’s a rifle! Every girl should know how to shoot a gun. Parenting done right!!” User @fitregardless agreed, writing, “est present ever! Teach your little girls to shoot! Our little ones, one girl and two boys, been shooting since they were two! Guns are amazing tools for kids to learn about and learn respect for!”
