That said, not all of the fans on Reddit are so convinced that MTV played that big of a role in “ruining” Kailyn and Javi’s lives.
User StasRutt wrote, “The thing is, even without MTV they would have had a messy marriage and divorce because they are so poorly matched as a couple. The only difference would’ve been the money involved.”
User 3zahsselhtiaf agreed and wrote, “Does it help that all their friends on both sides did nothing but stirred the f**king pot? I didn’t see anyone step back other than Jo and Vee to try and say guys come on for the kids at least make it somewhat okay. Sterling and Peach can go fly a f**king kite.”
But user ubehuda sided with her, writing, “I agree with her. Just think about it. Before the show got big she was working 2 or 3 jobs and going to school full time. If MTV hasn’t blown up like it had she probably would’ve continued school. I doubt Javi would’ve tried so hard to date her because she would’ve have been on the show so she probably wouldn’t have married him and had another kid. So already, she would’ve finished school sooner, probably in Philly, and she’d be working a regular job and supporting her child as best she could. The show absolutely went to her head. Hers and the rest of the girls. Her life would be so different without MTV.”

With Kailyn calling out MTV more and more, only time will tell whether it’ll get so bad that she won’t come back next season.
