Everyone has a past, including the cast members of Teen Mom. The only difference is that in the case of the cast members, the rockiest and worst parts of their pasts have all been captured on camera!
When Jenelle Evans became pregnant for the first time, she was only sixteen years old. We all know how the story goes: her baby daddy Andrew Lewis split on her and her son, leaving her struggling to raise Jace on her own. Eventually, her mother Barbara stepped in to help in exchange for Jenelle signing over custody to her… which began the ensuing epic battle between Babs and Jenelle that’s still going on.
Some of Jenelle’s hardest moments of her pregnancy were captured on her 16 and Pregnant episode, but now it’s clear there are some things that MTV didn’t capture. Now the shocking truth of Jenelle’s drug use during her pregnancy with Jace is coming to light.

Jenelle Evans has come a long way since her first appearance on 16 and Pregnant episode, and it’s easy to see that. Although she was in a rocky place at the beginning of her stardom, she has now settled down with her husband and kids and owns her own property. But that doesn’t mean her past isn’t going to come back to haunt her now and then. And unfortunately for Jenelle, there’s endless evidence of what she did while she was still a teenager.
Jenelle’s pregnancy was followed by MTV’s cameras from practically the very beginning. But apparently Jenelle had more to say on the matter, and in 2009, that meant blowing up all of her secrets on Myspace.
2010 Jenelle

Myspace is a thing of a past these days, but anyone born in the 90’s or earlier will remember everyone spilling all of their secrets in the most public way possible on the site. That includes Jenelle Evans! Her MySpace profile was published by Starcasm in 2010, and it’s still enough for a laugh 8 years later. It’s a bit of a wild ride: “I’m jenelle, and I’m not anything You Can Come Remotely Close to. I Wear my Heart on my Sleve and my emotions always dance around me. I Have the Biggest Heart, and I Hate Hurting People’s Feelings. I’m Very Sexual, and I Can Be a Perv. Also, I Have a Dirty mind<3 Oh, and I’ll always Say what’s on my mind! Even if it is Sexual,” wrote Jenelle, 17 years old at the time.
She went on:

If you remember Myspace, then you probably remember Formspring. If you don’t, it was a website where people could answer questions anonymously submitted by their friends. Of course being a celebrity, Jenelle was probably answering questions from fans as well — but it was in these questions that Jenelle dropped a bombshell of her drug habits while she was pregnant with Jace.
One anonymous question came in, reading, “My opinion is that you as a person should be able to do what you want that makes you happy as long as it doesn’t affect jase negatively i still drink and i’m a mom, you just have to prioritize, just be the best mom you can be, and you’ll never regret.”
Jenelle responded: “Jace yu mean.. and yes i make sure when i DO smoke im not around him and when i get back home im not high. plussss.. the only time i DO smoke is after my mom gets home from work and my mom is watching Jace for the night and he is already in bed.”
Another asked, “I dont get how any mother can smoke weed when they are prego and endanger there child like that. please tell me that one.”
Jenelle responded: “uhmm… drinking while yr prego is WAY WORSE then smokin a lil bud. and some doctors even RECOMMEND TO THEIR PATIENTS that they should smoke if they are nauseous.”

Another fan responded, “i dont think that any doctor has recommended that a prego woman smokes weed when they are prego. what are you high now. get a grip on reality!” Jenelle shot back, “Really? My doctor recommended it.”
However shocking this revelation has been to fans, many of them aren’t that surprised. It’s not that Jenelle’s decision to smoke while pregnant isn’t controversial; it’s the fact that Jenelle is notorious for smoking weed while pregnant! In fact, she recently admitted to using weed while she was pregnant with Ensley!
No Lie

Jenelle made the revelation during her appearance on Vince Russo’s podcast. One of the host brings up the fact that many of Jenelle’s “haters” have accused her of smoking weed while pregnant with Ensley, and she boldly confirms it.
“[Viewers] were saying it was at the hospital when [Ensley] was born,” the host asks. “Is that true? If the baby tests positive, you can’t take the baby home, right?”
“Oh yeah!” Jenelle admits. “I’m not going to lie about that.” She reveals:
“I tested positive for THC and Ensley did not test positive, I did. So [Child Protective Services asked], ‘Did you smoke while you were pregnant?’ I said ‘I did within the past 30 days… I have really bad esophageal spasms and I throw up every 5 minutes, can’t even eat.’ [CPS] said, ‘Okay, some moms do that; we’re not here to judge.’”
She revealed that CPS planned to do a wellness check on Ensley after she was born. “Everything [was fine]; they closed the case,” she said. She revealed that CPS had come to her home numerous times due to “haters online who say that [she abuses] her kids.”
Not So Fast

Despite Jenelle’s claims that her doctor approved her marijuana use, fans weren’t buying it.
“As someone with an esophageal disease (spasms and nausea included) I got medication safe to take while pregnant after talking to my DOCTOR about it,” wrote reddit user Iknowyous. “It would have been easy for her to do the same, This is an excuse and a poor one at that.”
User LittleDickB*tchMatt wrote, “I doubt CPS told her it’s ok. If it was ok they wouldn’t have been testing them in the first place.”
User Shelovesthem80sbby was alarmed by how often CPS was stopping by Jenelle’s home. “How she casually talks about CPS is crazy,” they wrote. “I’m not sure if she understands that normal women who give birth, don’t just have CPS visits as frequently as she does. It’s not normal.”
Testing Positive

Although Jenelle’s marijuana use clearly doesn’t phase her at all, it has worried members of her family. Nathan Griffith’s mother and Kaiser’s grandma Doris Griffith has recently been in custody battles with Jenelle over her grandson. In the papers, she brings up Jenelle’s marijuana use.
“DSS became involved due to Ensley testing positive for marijuana and opened an investigation,” court documents filed by Doris Griffith read, according to Radar Online Upon information and belief, both Plaintiff and David had positive drug screens for marijuana.”
Doris claimed that Jenelle “has an extensive history of drug use,” that returned while she was pregnant with Ensley. She continued, “Upon the birth of Ensley, the newborn tested positive for marijuana.”
Nathan’s mother Doris eventually dropped the suit against Jenelle, likely because of financial reasons. But in the premiere of Teen Mom 2, it was clear that she’s not going down without a fight.

“After Nathan’s domestic violence arrest, we changed his visits with Kaiser to be supervised by his mom,” Jenelle explained in a voice over. “Usually I get along with her, but I just got some really messed up news from my lawyer.”
In the clip, she tells David: “While you were picking up Kaiser and Maryssa just now, I was just upset… Nathan’s mom tried to file emergency custody on me to take Kaiser away immediately. She said she was worried about his bruises that he comes over to her house with… But I told my lawyer, ‘Kaiser actually comes home with finger bruises on his butt from being spanked.’”
“She said I left him outside in the hot, hot heat?” Jenelle added, seeming shocked by the accusations. David said, “That’s just crazy — Kaiser won’t even go outside by himself.”
Jenelle vented about Doris filing for custody instead of asking her to see Kaiser. “Just tell me when you want to see him, you can see him!” she said. “Don’t go behind my back and file emergency custody. Cause now you just opened up a big can of worms… Now I look at you like I look like my mom.”
“I’m sick of us trying to have our happy ending and everyone’s trying to f*ck it up,” Jenelle added, on the verge of tears. However, her baby daddy Nathan saw things very differently.
Huge Accusations

“My mom saw a lawyer and she decided to take out emergency custody,” Nathan Griffith explained to his friends in another scene. “I constantly see bruises. He told me David punched him one time. There’s just a lot of things my son comes back and tells me, and I see how he acts.”
“When he gets in trouble, you know the first thing he does?” Nathan pantomimes Kaiser covering his butt. “If you saw that, how would you feel? Like he’s being hit!” Nathan explains that he would file for custody himself if it weren’t for the pending charges against him.
However, Nathan’s friend says he thinks if David wasn’t in the picture, these concerns wouldn’t exist. “He does seem like he has tendencies to be a violent person,” Nathan agrees.
Writing on the Wall

Fans spotted something in the episode that underscored these fears: a large hole in Jenelle’s wall as a producer walked past.
“That’s a nice hole in the wall in a brand new house,” wrote reddit user GoodGodDude on this image from the season premiere of Teen Mom 2. In the image, there is clearly a significant hole in one of the walls of Jenelle and David’s home when one of the producers walks through. Many immediately assumed that David had put a hole in the wall.
“All I can picture is Jenelle trying to get away from David and locking herself in the bedroom while he punches the door 😩” wrote reddit user ifyouseekamy_ “I can’t imagine what terrifying fights the kids have heard.” User Copcardramatics wrote, “Why TF wouldn’t you patch this before having the film crew over? I guess there’s no point in fixing it if [David] is just going to put his fist through it again though.” User GirlsesPillses wrote, “If those walls could talk…”
