Needless to say, Demi’s relapse and overdose has resulted in an outpouring of love and concern for the star. Among those showing support are individuals who have battled addiction themselves, such as Jenelle Evans. Now, Jenelle is speaking out about her experiences as an addict in the wake of Demi’s OD.
“If you need help or support in time of immediate need, please seek it,” Jenelle Evans tweeted soon after news about Demi’s OD broke. “Hearing this news about [Demi Lovato] breaks my heart. I hope she’s okay. You’re strong girl, don’t let the devil drag you down.”
Jenelle then opened up about her own experiences with addiction. “Please find someone you trust, tell them the truth, ask for help,” she tweeted. She added, “It’s ok, promise. It’s scary, it’s embarrassing, but being sober is better than being dead.”
Jenelle spilled just how dangerous her addiction was in her memoir, where she explained that her addiction cold have even been fatal.
