If there's one thing Farrah Abraham is known for, it's being a bit...over the top.
The former Teen Mom star is incredibly active on social media, and fans never know what's coming next from her. Between odd political commentaries and new plastic surgeries, the reality tv star is more than unpredictable. But this time around, we're seeing a different side of Farrah.
She's opening up about her struggles with depression and thoughts of suicide, and we love how honest she is being!
In a series of Instagram stories, Farrah opened up to fans about her struggles with grief and mental health.
For starters, her baby daddy, Derek Underwood, passed away before ever getting to meet his daughter. This past December marked 12 years since his passing.
Farrah decided it was time to open up to fans since “there’s a lot of sadness going on” and help in whatever way she could.
“I just wanted to say, over the years, I’ve shared so much of my life when I have been deeply depressed, suicidal, probably mentally ill because of it,” Farrah began in her story. “And there’s so much that I’ve learned about myself through my teens to my 20s.”
"I just share every year online, like this past year, it’s been 12 years, going on 13, how loss feels. It’s not pretty, it’s not like you’re gonna get over it. It’s none of those things," Farrah continued. “I think, as there’s millions of people who go through suicidal thoughts, depression, it’s really hard. It’s something that you sometimes need support for.”
She explained that doctors and therapists have helped her with her struggles, and encouraged her fans to seek help if they need it.
“It’s beautiful to take care of your mental health,” she said. “It’s beautiful to understand that emotions are healthy.”
Farrah continued to discuss how even negative emotions can ultimately be positive because it’s good to be vulnerable and open to your body’s feelings. She said she’s also encouraged her daughter, Sophia, to speak to a therapist to “focus on her health and her well-being and her development.”
On the anniversary of Derek’s death, Farrah shared a video and caption about her loss.
“Sharing these words and clip from over the last 12 years, as others may feel depressed, hurt, overwhelmed this holiday. I hope you know you are strong,” the caption read. “It’s healthy to feel many emotions & even over many years, decades even with trauma therapy, antidepressants it’s normal to be sad especially around holidays, coldness, darkness possibly when the tragic event happened, wishing the loved one was there and new challenges unforeseen.”
Farrah also shared a long note about suicide and the reasons one can find to keep living their lives.
We hope she is staying strong and thank her for being so honest!
Farrah Abraham Charging Money for Daughter's Instagram
Farrah loves a hustle, and lately she’s been leaning on her music. She and her daughter recently released a Christmas song!
The audio of the song starts out with a message from the mom and daughter duo themselves.
"Happy holidays!" the two exclaim. "Okay, we are here to share really quick a favorite Christmas story," Farrah continues.
"We have so much fun around Christmas time and around the Christmas tree. Let's just say the biggest tree we ever had last year, and we did not have space to store it," she shared.
"It was like thirteen feet long!" Sophia chimed in.
"I actually assembled it wrong," Farrah spilled. "Like, the wrong levels of the Christmas tree. Then the magnets were stuck and I couldn't unstick it. We had to wait a whole week for a guy to come and fix the Christmas tree."
Farrah sighs, "The Christmas tree drama is real! We've had fun over the years cutting down trees, we've had fun with like magnetic fake trees - either way, have fun decorating and we hope you enjoy 'Rocking Around The Christmas Tree,'" (which is not the name of the song they covered, Jingle Bell Rock).
But now, it looks like Farrah is using her daughter to make some money once again.
@teenmomshaderoom_ shared a screenshot of a post by Farrah. Farrah retweeted the Sun’s headline that read, “#TeenMom Farrah Abraham’s daughter Sophia, 11, demands $25k for a social media follow.”
“@SohpiaLAbraham know your worth kids,” Farrah tweeted.
“This is weird and unsafe... anybody paying that much for a follow back from a child definitely ain’t a child,” @teenmomshaderoom_ captioned the shot.
They then shared a screenshot of Sophia’s Instagram bio. She has 633k followers and is only following 2 people.
“She's that desperate for money?” one Instagram follower commented.
“She’s the type to sale her daughter to highest bidder if you know what I mean,” added another.
What do you think of Farrah’s bid to charge for her daughter’s follow-backs?
