As noted above, the couple chose to keep their big news a secret for longer than usual. There was much speculation as to why they might have made this choice (the word “liar” was thrown around a lot), but MTV released an interview with Evans just before Ensley’s birth that put speculation to rest.

In the interview with MTV, Jenelle explained that she had gotten conflicting information from different doctors regarding the pregnancy. She, herself, wasn’t even sure if she was expecting during many of the “denial” scenes that have caused controversies for fans.

I mean, I guess!

Whether it was “confusion” or just wanting to wait to tell people, I can’t really blame Jenelle and David either way! Her whole life has been an open book—they’re allowed to reveal their pregnancy news however they want. Plenty of people keep pregnancies secret at first; I don’t know why this caused such a problem for Jenelle and David!
