Jenelle wants to step up and do what's right
Jenelle may not have made the best decisions for her children in previous years; she’s still fighting with her own mother Barbara to get custody of her oldest son Jace. But Jenelle has turned out to be an amazing step mom to her fiancé’s daughter. The young girl was in need of a stable, loving home, and Jenelle happily let her come live with her and David. Here’s why Maryssa was in dire straits before she came to live with her father.

Even with two young kids including a newborn in her brand new home in North Carolina, Jenelle was more than willing to let another child in need into her home. David Eason has two children from previous relationships, and his oldest child Maryssa was in trouble.
Disbelief

While Maryssa began appearing in Jenelle’s social media photos and videos, people were still in disbelief that she would be raising her fiancé’s child.
Then she showed just how great of a stepmother she is by posting a photo of a sweet letter that Maryssa wrote to her and reciprocated every bit of love that Maryssa had for her.

While Jenelle and David have declined to comment on why Maryssa is living with them, Jenelle did declare, “She visits her mom still on weekends. If her mother wanted to step out I would step in and would but not as of now.”
They’re busy trying to raise their family up right and focus on getting Jace back into her life.
