The cameras never seem to stop rolling on the life of Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska, even when she’s going through some intense difficulties. But her openness with her fans has cemented her as one of the favorite stars in the series, and viewers are always willing to show support when she opens up about her hardships.
Over the years, Chelsea has been put through the ringer, largely when it comes to co-parenting with her ex, Adam Lind as he struggles with his addiction. But now, Chelsea’s recent hardship has brought fans to tears.
Chelsea’s fans are no strangers to watching her struggle with difficult times, especially when it comes to her first baby daddy. In 2017, Adam Lind started a downward spiral that he may not have begun recovering from. This all started in June when he tested positive for methamphetamines right before he was scheduled to spend time with his daughter.
He then violated a protection order that his ex had placed against him, landing him behind bars. While he was there, another ex was granted a restraining order against Adam.
During this time, Adam was prohibited from contacting any of his past victims, as well as Chelsea Houska. But recently, all of this has been set to change.
A recent report from Radar Online has revealed that a clerk from Lincoln County Court in South Dakota confirmed that “the condition of [Adam]’s sentence expired and that the case is currently closed.”
The clerk also confirmed that Adam has not committed any crimes in Lincoln County in the past year.
Even though these limitations have been dropped from Adam, fans aren’t totally convinced that he’s turned a new leaf.
This season of Teen Mom 2, Chelsea has struggled a great deal with the fact that her daughter Aubree is getting old enough to realize that Adam is consciously deciding not to spend any time with her. But there’s also another major struggle that Chelsea has opened up about: her battle with anxiety.
During the Teen Mom 2 reunion, Nessa asked Chelsea what stuck out to her from the past season.
“My anxiety,” Chelsea revealed. “Whatever you see on TV and whatever you see when I show up somewhere, there’s so much more that has happened to get me even like… here.”
“But it’s treatable, and it gets better,” Dr. Drew said. “Yes!” Chelsea agreed.
Previously, Chelsea has suffered an anxiety attack so bad that she was rushed to the emergency room.
It was so bad and so scary and whatever I thought a panic attack was, I must have been so wrong," Chelsea explained at the time, revealing she thought she was “dying.” She added, "I literally thought I was having a stroke or something."
Cole DeBoer's Secret Dark Side Surfaces?
The world of Teen Mom is constantly changing. From marriages to divorces to unplanned pregnancy, it’s hard to know what to expect every day in the fanbase.
There are just a few things that never change: There’s going to be drama, and Chelsea Houska’s husband Cole DeBoer is just the best.
It’s no secret that a lot of the stars’ significant others are not very popular among fans, but from the minute he first appeared on the show, fans have loved Cole. From his looks to his kindness, there are endless reasons why fans approved of Chelsea’s catch… but is all of that changing?
Of all the places to meet, Chelsea Houska met her future husband at a gas station! As the story goes… The two locked eyes, but both were too shy to say anything to one another. Cole DeBoer then found Chelsea on social media, and their relationship sparked from there.
Although Cole didn’t want to appear on the show at first, when he decided to let the fans meet him, everyone knew that it was a perfect match. Chelsea and Cole had the same values, the same ideals, and the same sense of humor.
Most importantly, they both wanted a big family! That’s why their wedding was a little unplanned from the beginning. When Chelsea discovered she was pregnant with her second child, Watson, she understandably didn’t want to walk down the aisle. So the couple got married, but waited to have their wedding — and fans had to wait patiently to see the breathtaking ceremony!
After their wedding, the two made it clear that having one baby together was not enough. Soon, the welcomed another child together, Layne, who was born on Chelsea’s birthday!
From the outside, it seems that Cole and Chelsea have the perfect relationship. Compared to some of the other Teen Mom relationships, the two are great communicators, great parents, and fun to watch… so why are things suddenly taking a turn for the worse?
According to many fans, Cole has started to show his dark side in the most recent season of Teen Mom 2.
In a recent episode of the show, Chelsea suffered an anxiety attack before launching her fashion line.
In the car ride over to the launch Chelsea clearly becomes anxious. She tells Cole that she needs to listen to her meditation books, and then has him stop at the gas station so she can pee, which she explains is because she’s feeling anxious.
“Let’s get there as fast as we can,” Chelsea begs when she gets back in the car. “Because I’m going to feel better once we’re there.”
“I don’t know why this happens,” Chelsea says. “My body can’t just be like, ‘Oh, I’m excited slash nervous!’ I got f*cking issues.”
In this clip, Cole exhibits some behavior fans are not happy with.
While they make plans to stop at the gas station, Aubree asks if she can get a snack, and Chelsea tells her no. Then, when Chelsea leaves, Cole scolds her.
“Mom needs you to seriously just sit and be calm, okay?” Cole says to Aubree. “Can we just be calm, please? Are you listening to me? That means just sit back.”
Fans think that Cole was putting too much pressure on Aubree to take care of her mother.
“Cole was out of line,” wrote user cmrizzle on reddit. They added, “Aubree was trying to entertain the kids, all she asked for was a snack (normal kid behavior for her age). Chelsea was the one making the car ride stressful and instead of babying her Cole could’ve easily just told her to relax (Chelsea) ...
Cole didn’t have to shame Aubree the way he did. Chelsea either needs to get it together for her family’s sake or stop getting so d*mn irritated with the kids because of HER OWN anxiety.” User LittlehouseonTHELAND agreed, “Also, Aubree shouldn't be made to feel responsible for Chelsea's mental health. That part where Cole was telling her to be calm so Chelsea would be calm was disturbing.”
This isn’t the only way that Cole seems to have changed. In the last episode of Teen Mom 2, after some tense exchanges with Adam Lind’s mother Donna, Cole angrily exclaimed, “I’m answering the door on Friday!” -- making it clear he had every intention of telling her off!
Some fans have different theories about why Cole’s behavior has changed. “Just my theory, but I think he knows that Chelsea has a soft spot for tough guys and he's trying to fit that stereotype. Hence the tattoos, and bulking up since he's met her,” wrote user Samsquanch71.
User SpiritualCamera theorized, “I get the vibe that he just really likes being the White Knight in every aspect of Chelsea’s life, almost in a controlling way (but not abusively) that she’s perfectly alright with. He’s okay with pandering to her fragility in exchange for being completely in charge. She really couldn’t have found a more perfect dude to enable her total uselessness.”
